GRuB’s innovative summer job training and alternative farm-based school model creates opportunities for low-income and disengaged youth urban youth to get their hands in the soil and learn how to take care of themselves and the earth simultaneously. G...R...u...B Go GRuB Grow!
GRuB grows healthy food, people, and communities. Our mission is to inspire positive personal and community change by bringing people together around food and agriculture.
Youth will participate in land and community-based projects which bring more relevance and synergy into their learning. Teens will gain the context, passion, and skills to advocate for good food and environmental sustainability solutions in their own lives and community. All activities will be based on GRuB’s core themes of Farming Self (personal development), Farming Land (sustainable land stewardship), and Farming Community (civic engagement & community service). They will improve the lives of others by growing food for the Food Bank, their families, and for market.
