My Brothers Workshop, plans to create and establish a community garden and micro-farm to sustain and drive a new training program, offering at-risk youth within the Virgin Islands an opportunity to learn viable working skills while positively impacting their community through the process.
As agricultural services in St. Thomas are overlooked and underappreciated, MBW thought it wise and beneficial to instill the knowledge and skill set of farming, shining attention to its great importance and role within the community. It is through this endeavor that MBW foresees the development of self-sustainment: training through the creation of a sub-business, utilizing the income gained from the business to internally fund the program and similar MBW initiatives. The organization has been longing to take advantage of its youth outreach to again, outreach within the community, while sustaining the goals of the program. Through the implementation of a community garden/farm and farmers market in Bovoni, all of those goals can be achieved.
