Social Thinking and Wellness programs support student independence through combination of the social dimension through education in social skills, and health education in group outdoor activities including games and recreational activities. Sessions conclude with processing & de-briefing discussion
Equipment for outdoor challenges including a visit to nearby ropes course. Used bikes, helmets, skateboards, rollerblades, used kayaks or rentals. Our classes meet on the playground, parks, forest, bike trails and local lakes. With larger groups and longer sessions students are introduced to cooperative and sensory challenges. Learning to work together by getting along, communicating, focusing, will improve their sportsmanship and ability to succeed as a group. Expectations of growth in awareness of their senses, surroundings and nature appreciation. Student are also encouraged through affirmation exercises, to understand and compliment one another’s contributions. Students offered. opportunities to suggest, teach & lead activities.
